Tomorrow, Friday April 5th from 3-7pm in Harvard Square, my son Ari is participating in a really fun event that I wanted to share with you.
The St. Paul’s Choir School will be performing their first ever HYMNATHON, during which Ari’s boys choir will sing all 400 hymns in the St. Paul's Hymnal, which you can find here HERE.
Why are they doing this?
For both the challenge and joy of singing through some of Christianity's great hymns, and to raise funds for their annual tour, taking place from April 9th to the 14th in Chicago.
How do I participate?
Everyone is invited to join in and sing along. Stop by for ten minutes, an hour, or stay for the whole thing! Hymnals and refreshments will be provided. The boys will sing only the first stanza of each hymn, unless someone wishes to purchase the following:
a second, third or fourth stanza
a hymn that's NOT in the St. Paul's Hymnal. For example, a beloved LDS hymn. Can you imagine a boys choir singing Come, Come Ye Saints, The Spirit of God, or How Firm a Foundation? Make a donation and see your dream come true.
a beloved anthem from the boys' repertoire
It would be great to see you tomorrow if you’re free!
You can learn more and make a donation if so inclined here.
